SPIRITUALITY GROUP
We meet on the first and third Tuesday evenings of each month in the small meeting room off the lobby of our Parish House. Spirituality means many things to people. An idea or practice is spiritual when it reveals our personal desire to establish a felt relationship with the deepest meanings or powers governing life. As Christians we seek a deeper relationship with God despite the ultimate unknowability of our Creator. We seek and nurture a relationship based on surrender and trust. We utilize variety of spiritual and contemplative prayer practices which are available for this exploration: centering prayer, labyrinth, Lectio Divina, sharing books and poetry which foster our intentions. We open with prayer, share stories, challenges, and close with Compline which is one piece of praying the hours. No prior experience is required, simply a willingness to enter into this deeper relationship with God. Each person contributes and participates as they feel comfortable. All are welcome. Each session stands alone, so you can enter the group at any point. |
