Alternative Worship During The Coronavirus Pandemic
In response to the recommendations of health authorities and our Bishop, we are increasing our measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus within the Saints Peter & John community.
We have been offering teaching regarding the coronavirus and what we can do to protect ourselves and limit spread of disease in this dangerous pandemic. As of the end of worship on Sunday, March 15, all in-person gatherings have been suspended. That means our usual worship services will not take place until further notice.
This of course does not mean we will stop prayer and private worship. In this Lenten season, we recommend you continue prayer, scripture and spiritual reading, and meditation. Pray for all who are impacted by this virus as well as governmental and health officials who are struggling to provide the care we need across the nation.
Reach out to others in our community who may be isolated. Offer support and prayer.
Our church office will remain open at this time.
Our Soup Kitchens will no longer serve sit down meals. We will provide take out meals. This will require extra expense. Donations are welcome.
We will share alternatives to our Sunday community worship as they are developed.
Diocese Resources:
Beginning Sunday, March 22nd, the Diocese will offer online worship on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. for those who may want to participate.
